Grief, it's personal...............

Grief sneaks in like a thief,

Ties your gut in a knot,

Cuts you like a Sorcerers sword

Turns the sky black…

Makes you deaf to sounds around you,

Steals your heart, takes your breath.



One again grief has entered my life,

not grief for myself but for my sister

who has spent the last few months

at the bedside of the man she has loved most in her life,

though all hope is lost he is still among the living, barely.

I grieve with her and for her and lit the candle six days ago,

when we knew it could be any second now,

the three-day candle still burns, and his end of life struggle continues.
